Hot Tours

Can anyone recommend a travel agency that offers "hot tours" in the region?
Do these even exist here?

By hot tour I mean a package deal (flight and hotel) where a tour operator bought blocks of seats and rooms, but hasn't sold them all so they start discounting them as the dates approach.

Thanks.

Not sure such a concept exists here, Stakan. I have not heard of these.
If they do exist, I have a feeling these are sold to "insiders" (if you know what I mean :) ) and hence the general public is not informed of them.
No harm is calling a few travel agencies to check.

I am with Farhaz here. Never heard of them but having visited some travel agencies here before due to my work, I am sad to say their inefficiency has always amazed me. You are better off doing your research online and checking different packages yourself.

That's what I usually do, But where I come from package travel is very popular and sometimes you really can get a great deal with it. Oh well. It seems this isn't the case from here.

I agree there is alot that lacks here. I was amazed when i first got here and i wanted some items - only to my amazement, they dont do it. You really have to try alot of places and if you're lucky you may find it.

There are certain things that amaze me too here - but i have got used to it and laugh about it!  :D
Whenever i goto to town and want to buy something  (e.g. phone shop ) they always seem to be out of stock!
However the shop assistant always asks me for my details and says they will inform me when they have it in stock! Surprise, surprise i never receive that call.!  :P

On a positive note - about these package tours - when i visited Bahrain museum quite a while ago i did see a group of holiday makers in there and there was a tour guide with them. So that leads me to think, there must be some sort of package tours, although i cant be sure it was from here. Why don't you try calling the Museum and enquire with them as they may be able to put you in touch with the holiday tour group.?

Failing that, i agree with Brightonguy and doing your own research, that may be a better option. Or as you are on Expat.com, why not post on the regions that your interested in, and i'm sure someone out there will help!..  ;)

Good luck   :top:

Some of the tours that we see around here have been from the cruise ships as they are really trying to promote that, but then that was a while ago. Package deals are not needed here. It's not a holiday destination. Mostly residents and business people fly here and that's it (except our visitors from over the causeway)

Thanks, but I live in Bahrain. I wasn't looking for tours for here. I was looking for travel agents here that might sell package tour (airfare and hotels only) to other places such as Oman, Jordan, Turkey, etc.

Thanks.

Ah I knew you lived here, I thought you were asking for mates who wanted to visit you

Best place are sites like "on the beach" where you choose your hotels and flights separately. Not seen anyone who does package tours out of Bahrain. Travel agents are common in Bahrain but everyone uses the net these days......
