Hi!

I have an offer from a muscat company with salary of OMR 180 only, food,Accommodation taken care by company itself.

I am single, how much i can save, or this is a very low salary for an engineer???

Sumitran

Hello,

The salary offered to you is way too low - and undoubtedly so for an Engineering Graduate.

The offer is looking more like the package and perks offered to a blue-collar worker.

Good luck.

Brother Aswin,
I'm really surprised to see that being an Engineer, how you're even considering OMR 180 ?

This salary is even lower than the  "Below average scale" for an engineering status. Pardon me, i will really request you to think thrice before accepting this offer (If you're really an engineer).

No further comments from my side (Sorry for being harsh as I am an engineer too and this salary is literally an insult from your employer for a person, having an engineering degree).

you are saying true, i am also started to negotiate but not accepted.

I am a true engineer, you don't need to worry about that, i have just asked about my salary only.

Sumitran

Hi aswin25,

I understand your predicament. The company that has offered you this package is not a trusted or reputed one for sure.

As mentioned by schaz and me, the salary offered is way too low for an Engineering degree holder. It is a prized professional degree which deserves better rewards than this.

Also, I can assure you the facilities of accommodation and food to be provided by the company too would most certainly be sub-standard, given the fact that they are planning to pay you so little.

However, if you have to save R.O. 100/- from your offered salary of R.O. 180/-, while it is possible, you would have seriously compromise your lifestyle. The question is should you really stoop so low ? This is a question only you can answer.

Best of luck to you.

If the company pays you OMR 500 + Accomodation / Utilities, then it may be considered as somehow a considerable salary.

Indeed it is very low since you are an engineer. How come you accept this job...!??? Didn't you asked someone before join this job?
