Living costs, saving money

Post new topic

Hi

I'm going to apply for a language school job somewhere in China around September.
I'm planning on moving on to Japan next year so I need to save a lot of money.
If I'm living outside Beijing and Shanghai how is salary vs, living costs? How much could I expect to save if I have a free apartment and don't go drinking or clubbing?
I worked in China from 2005-2007 but it seems things have changed a lot.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

You didn't mention that hoe much they will pay you because salary for language teacher start from 8000 RMB to 20,000 RMB . So saving depends upon how much you will be earning.
Another thing is medical insurance , will they give you medical insurance in the contract  if it is not then having any health problem takes a big amount from your savings. Another thing is food , it depends what do you like to have in your every day meal it varies from 35 RMB - 100 RMB /meal.
