Moldovan grandfather

Post new topic

liev__

Hi,

My great grandparents were Italians and they moved to Romania(they were communists, so I suspect it had something to do with Mussolini). My grandfather was born in there. When the WWII started, they made their way to Brazil. I heard that having a Moldovan grandfather that was born when Moldova was still part of Romania gives you the right to get Romanian citizenship. My grandfather got married and died in Brazil and all his children were born in there. My birth certificate has his name. What would be the procedure? Just his and my birth certificates would be OK? Or I'd need more documents?

Thanks!

If your grandfather was born in Moldova when Moldova was part of Romania then he wasn't he born in Romania?
If you have his birth certificate you should look to see where is his birthplace.
