Hi! I'm from the Philippines. I'm having a Skype interview for a resort in Maldives tomorrow. I think this is for a direct employment as I have applied here directly from their website. Any advice to what essential information should I ask about as this is my first time to apply overseas. I really would like to work in Maldives. Hope someone can help me. Thank you!

First you must clearly know your responsibilities in regard to your job.
If food is covered free
Accommodation is covered free. Do you have to share rooms, if so how many and what type. If rooms are air conditioned? Or fan? Most resorts provide air condition rooms and sharing is based on level of jobs.
If salary will be paid in US$ - if you get salary in Local equivalent and if you buy $ you may loose in exchange rate.
How many off days in a month - usually at least one day in a week. If you can take your off days together end of the month? If so can you visits to City island.
If you go to Make City during your days off, transport to City and back plus accommodation will be taken care of the company? I think almost all resorts allow staff to travel free to city and some even pay for their accommodation in Male city.
Will you get paid leave of 30 days in a year and return tickets free to visit your native country.
Are you allowed to socialise with guest on professional level?
Are you allowed in guest areas, restaurants and bars? However you must not sound as if that's what you want but ask as information so that u are aware of rules and limits.
What are the facilities for staff, such as TV, gym, canteen, sports.
If the resort conducts Staff motivation and training programs
What are the opportunities of promotions and increments. Probation period, if any yearly increments?

They will pay for your transport and visa as well. Good luck with your interview!
