Hi all,

I am slighly confused about the degree attestation process. I assume every enginereering degree needs to be attested to obtain a work visa in any GCC country, including Bahrain. I was expecting the same from our HR but instead, I was advised that  attestation is not required as a part of visa application. The HR advised me that the attestation will be required after my arrival in the country and upon receipt of the membership approval from the 'Committee For Organizing Engineering Professional Practice', however, another colleague from Canada told me that in his case degree attestation was required as a part of visa application.

I am completely lost with the overall process.

Please can anyone shed some light on this.

Regards

It is different from company to company. You may find your work visa says something totally different to what you are actually doing. There are ways around these things and if a company can do it they will. Life in the GCC, nobody ever "gets it"
