Hi,
We are a family of 2+3 and will be travelling to Malaysia for 2/3 months throughout the year until we decide to make the big move under the MM2H scheme.

What we would like to ask this wonderful family on the Expat.com can we rent accommodation for 1 or 2 months?
What would roughly be the costs for gas/electric etc?

We have a  budget of around 3500 ringgits for accommodation.
We are happy to stay in a community which is family friendly.
Close as possible around Kuala Lumpur.
Will also be staying a month in Langkawi.

Many Thanks
Ali & Family

Your only options will be serviced apartments and your budget is rather low for these.  You could look at Maytower Serviced Apartment which is very central and not too expensive.

Please check out the MM2H terms as they have been changed this year with a higher liquid assets requirement. The minimum purchase price of property is also now RM1 million instead of RM500k. The income per month equivalent to RM10k is still the same.

Many Thanks for the quick reply.

We will probably look at putting more aside for the accommodation like 5000 ringgits.

There are also home stay which are just empty apartments charged per night:

As they are geographically arranged there is also a listing for Langkawi and other places:

Maybe u shud check "Airbnb" for a short term rental, "Mudah.my" or "iproperty.com.my" portal for long term or short term rental.
