Is it possible to buy alcohol on the way in from Bahrain duty free during Ramadan?  any issues with transporting it to home during Ramadan from the airport?

Thanks

brightonguy

No issues there. You can buy alcohol and transport it to your home.

:/  Why haven't i see a duty free on my way out.

A follow-up question. Do the liquor shops sell during ramadan?

Josnuggles

All three alcohol shops are closed during Ramadan. They open again on the 1st day of EID. If you want booze during Ramadan it's best to order for the whole month the week before Ramadan starts and just store it. Expat clubs are open and selling but they all have different opening times and you can only get in after Iftar if you are not a member and a member signs you in. If you are a member then it's obviously no issue.

Cool. Thanks.

Thanks. Got it from duty free last night but allowance is only 1 litre.

Ali, the duty free is the one directly behind the passport counters as you come in. The alcohol section is hidden behind the cosmetics :)

Had the immigration and CID guys known this when you were struggling with your visa, they might have approved it without any issues :D

Welcome to Bahrain, XTang! Give us a shout if you need any help settling down.
