Hi,

I am an Indian architect with 17 years of experience, recently hired by an ACE Bahraini Architecture firm. I am sincerely hoping an assignment which leads to a contemporary modern master class with firmly in line with Bahraini sensitivity.
I am here for last one week & family to join only in next April, I am all set to find like minded creative people from expat community. Get in touch with me or let me know how its possible to get socialize with expat community?

Hi Ash - welcome to Bahrain.

Keep your eyes on our Forum. Some of the Forum regulars organize get-togethers which you could attend if you are interested.

Best wishes

Ash786

Thank you Farhaz.

I think your post will put people off meeting you. It seems that you are ONLY interested in meeting architects and interior designers.

There are thousands of people in Bahrain that you could enjoy socialising with if you broadened your horizons. If you want to meet other expats then join one of the expat clubs as that is where a lot hang out. Otherwise try going around the pubs and restaurants in Adliya and Juffair (after Ramadan of course)

Good luck

Ash786

You are right Jos.....Architects are little self-centered!  :| The intention was meeting like minded people.Expat club is a good idea. I will explore post Ramadan.

Thanks
AJ

No problem. If you want signing in then let me know. Happy to do so for you. A lot of the expats here are engineers, so they do a lot of drawing and designs too. I'm sure you will fit in really well

Ash786

Hi All,
I am searching for an indoor badminton court & a partner in juffair. Anyone, any suggestion please.

Social clubs such as the Indian Club may be able to help.

Ash786

Thank you Farhaz.

I need to do research in order to design one of the buildings near airport. I will sincerely appreciate any information on the evolution of transportation systems in Bahrain and 2030 Master plan (which are not there on web).
Cheers.

Ash786

I certainly wont mind if someone suggests a book name which pictorially portray a difference between Bahrain of 1950 & Bahrain of 2014.

Cheers. :)

Ash786

Happy I'd to all my fellow expats friends.

Hi.
Welcome to the Forum.
You may want to post an ad in the classified section.

Another thing you could do is to contact firms of architects in Bahrain. Best wishes.

I am sure there must be some publications/literature relating to this. Sorry I cannot be of too much help, but I sincerely hope someone out there can help.

May I suggest you contacting the Ministry of Transport? They may have an archive from which you may be able to get information.

A visit to the Bahrain National Museum may give you some insight into architecture of the pervious eras. A walk down the "Pearl Route" in Muharraq also will be useful.

Just a few ideas that come to my mind to help out with your questions. Good luck Ash!

Hi Ash - wonder if you saw this in today's GDN:

Land Use and Development in Bahrain has featured in a journal of urban and

the authors observations on the reclamation of land and the laying out of
European-style residential estates. Above, Deputy Premier Shaikh Khalid bin
