Import licence for beauty care products ordered online?

This is a strange one.

Recently I ordered 2 fancy bottles of shampoo from England and all I had to do was pay 60 000 VND import duty.

There was never any mention of an import license as a necessary requirement.

Not to mention that I've both sent and received goods in Vietnam and never heard any mention of this so called import license.

Unless you ordered a pallet load of shampoo I can't see where the problem is.

My advice would be just let it go.

It's really not worth the hassle running around like an idiot to all sorts of offices trying to sort out paperwork for the sake of a shampoo and conditioner.

Go and visit DHL office on the side of the Main Post Office (NGUYEN VAN BINH STREET) and speak top them. If English speaking staff isn't there, they can get them on the telephone.

Take your weigh-bill/notice with you as well as passport.

Thanks guys! I will probs go to DHL tomorrow or something, because this is ridiculous! it is just 1 shampoo and 1 conditioner and a rose water spray. They said in an email that the Import Permit is a requirement and they can't do it themselves, which defeats the purpose of using a courier, right? Arggghhh, I just want to wash my hair with my favorite shampoo PS It's Oribe - and no, it's not sold anywhere here
