VPN required?

Guest9764

Has anyone in KZ found that it's better to have a VPN? I know many sites were blocked in the UAE. Thanks.

In general you don't need a VPN. All the 'normal' sites are accessable.

I only use a VPN for when I want to watch a tv-programm from my home country, that has a geographical block on it.
For internet sites it luckiliy is not necessary, unlike in the UAE.

No sites are blocked in kazakhsta. You can play youtube and all sites open . There is no government restrictions on internet like that i iran, dubai, pakistan etc.

You dont need a vpn and  they are using 3 & even 4 g now. The price for one month good spped net from any company is around 25 - 30 dollars. You dont need vpn.

Have a nice time

It depends where you want to watch TV from. Tunnel bear gives you access to sites from a number of countries for 4 US dollars a month

Go to www.target.com   I have to use Hola to watch netflix

It's just a retail store in American that I wanted to buy and send presents with---but that's the point. It's just a retail store.  Maybe America is too protective? Or maybe Astana is more open than Aktobe?

Just tried https://www.tunnelbear.com/download/
Pretty sweet and it not only lets you visit certain sites, all vpn's encrypt your data flow whether you're on Tengrin news or some alternative news site.

Hi, not sure if you are using TunnelBear still, but it appears that Kaztelecom (at least in Ust-Kamenogorsk) may be blocking it at the moment ... not sure if this is a government "initiative".
