Rock climbing

Hello,

Does anyone know of any rock-climbing clubs in Ankara or any climbing walls in the city? I believe there's one at Hacettepe University and Ankara University and there used to be a massive one in Dikmen but that's closed down now. Can anyone confirm?

Hi Andy, did you ever work out the climbing situation in Ankara? I'm heading there for work for 3 weeks until the end of August, and want to get out on the Sunday's I'm there, and after work of there's a wall. I'll be moving out there long term in a few months, and will be needing to get out more regularly.

No I didn't really find out anything definite but there's a guy I work with who should know more. I'll try to find out.

Hi Andy

There are climbing clups at Metu (Middle East Technical University) and Hacettepe Univerisity. As you said there is one artifical climbing wall at Hacettepe. On the other hand there is a regularly rock climbing meet up at Hüseyin Gazi / Mamak Ankara. When and how they arrange this activities, I dont know but there is.

I finally got myself to Kisa Kaya (kisakayaboulder.com), and had a great night. Small but very friendly.

Disappointingly I found out that Huseyin Gazi has been closed by the army!
