Is life in Hurghada similar to life in the US? Can someone tell me is there is a good hospital with a good ER ? Is there any good national schools and how much does it cost? Is it safe to live there?  I really hope someone can help us out because we were thinking of moving there but we need to have some answers before we do so.
We have 3 little boys
Thank you
Best regards.

Life in Hurghada is totally different to life in the US.

I've lived in both places and they are poles apart.

In Hurghada, food is seasonal, there are a lot of things you'll be used to in the US that you can't get in Hurghada.

The hospitals are poor.  There are two decent ones but, when I had an accident and was unconscious, I was taken to the General Hospital.  Throw yourself in the ocean before you go here.  I had 2 skull fractures, a brain bleed AND a fissure fracture to my hand. They diagnosed me as fine and charged me a fortune for it.  It was only by getting to another hospital and having a CT scan (cheap and quick) that I was diagnosed properly, although there are no decent specialists to read the scans. The Nile hospital in Hurghada and the hospital in El Gouna are the only ones worth trusting.

Schools - there are quite a few international schools.  I couldn't give you costs as I don't have children, but you can google "international schools in hurghada" and you should come across information.

Hurghada is much, much safer than the US, UK or anywhere in Europe really.  If you're sensible and respectful you won't have any issues. Children are adored in Egypt.

PM me if you have any further questions.

I agree with netyoda.
In regards to schools, they cost around $1000 a kid for Primary and Elementary, high school is a bit higher probably add $200 more.

There are advantages and disadvantages for every place on earth so as Hurghada.

You can expect a laid-back life here, easy going, everything in reach small town type of environment.
Real nice water and weather is warm almost through out the year. Maybe around one to two months that the degree drops to near 15c (Celsius).
On the other hand, it's trashy, garbage everywhere, roads and drivers would drive you insane.
No laws, only if you know someone in certain positions, then you worth something!
US passport will give you some certain powers :) , keep it with you all time and flash it when needed :)

Good luck.
