Is anyone here interested in Photography?
Beginner, Amateur, Pro-Amateur (I made that one up), Pro -it doesn't matter.
Just curious if anyone would be interested in meeting up for Photowalks, Phototours, Museum tours & such.
And maybe for 'meetings' to exchange some 'knowledge', ask questions and whatnot.
I know that there's the Kuwait Science Club, but most of their postings are in Arabic.
Some courses offered might be in English, so it's worth keeping an eye on.
But I think, if people are interested, it might be worth a try to do something on our own.
Any takers?
hey i work for a kodak kuwait and i am very much interested i have a friend too who is very much interested in photography.. if u need anything related to kodak or nikon cameras u can send contact me. how do we get in touch nicole.
Have sent a reply to your mail
I will make a list of interesting places to visit in the next few days & hope for some Input from you guys for even more places to see
Is anyone into birding by any chance?
Hi Jijo, welcome aboard.
Since the question you asked me in your mail is one, that probably a few people wonder about:
How to learn Photography
The easiest way to learn about Photography is to go out and shoot.
That's a good start to get a feel for what you like to take photos of.
Play around, try different angles, different approaches to the subject.
Next step is to search online or via books for tips to learn how to handle your camera.
Best start with your camera manual
Next step or in between, join a Photo community or start a blog.
Share your photos. You sometimes get feedback, either positive or not, it doesn't matter too much.
Over time you will see how your photography changes and that's worth the effort put in.
I hope that we get a small group of people together (which we actually already have) and that we can meet up every few weeks for a Photowalk and also from time to time to talk about photography and maybe learn from each other.
Anyone of you game for a small Photowalk at the nicoleb.org/b2/index.php/out-and-about: Al nicoleb.org/b2/index.php/al-hashemi-kuwait-marine-museum: Hashemi and the nicoleb.org/b2/index.php/kuwait-marine-museum: Kuwait Marine museum?
Last time I was there, Photography was still allowed & there's no entrance fee. So, unless they have changed that, we are good to go
Plus, part of it would be inside and part in the shade.

My photos are from 2008 and taken with my small Casio. Inside the small museum it is a challenge for P&S cameras, but it's doable.
I am itching to get better ones
So, WHO would be interested and WHEN do you have time?
I would prefer mornings, if possible, like getting there around 9 am?
Im in!!! Though I dont get there until mid August... but count me in then! Im a little trigger happy with my camera, but I would love to get some feedback/tips/advice.... cause Im sure that simply taking an obscene amount of photos in hopes of one good one is probably not the most effective method
Definitely looking forward
Cool
As long as you look at your photos & try to learn from them, taking a bunch is no big deal.
I am still deleting photos I took in Korea 5 years ago, talk about trigger happy,.... sigh
But can't delete them all, they are memories, not masterpieces
niki you are most welcome dear
you have good Angle in picturing ... i have canon G9 .. but it's Disabled or damaged now
wish to see more of pictures
try "sahara" resort good luck

i wana join this, when you will go ?

@Kuwait girl
Do you have a small camera?
I could borrow you a 5MB Casio, worked well for me before I got the big one.
All you would need is a small SD card and for at home a card reader, so you'll have your photos (both is cheap)
@Deni
We will still be game then - at least I am
@ALL
How do Saturday mornings sound?
Next Saturday I am booked, so how about Saturday 15th?
9am at Al Hashemi (I will make a copy of google maps to show you where to go)
Remember, it will be Ramadan by then, so bring water, but bring it in a backpack so you can drink some somewhere in a bathroom.
Nicole, our plans has just changed and I will be there earlier than I thought, maybe next week... So i will be able to meet you for photography on the 15th of August! But I don't have a professional camera yet, it is not a problem. is it?
I just read that, Deni
Cool - nope, you DO NOT need a Pro camera
We are just out for the fun.
Seeing new things, new angles and maybe learn something new
Edit to say:
I am NOT a teacher, nor am I a Professional

@Kuwaiti girl: Is this Ahmedi area close to Adan?
Hi all, I was out for a photoshoot yesterday early in the morning.
Honestly, I was beat afterward.
I think, it will be way too hot on Saturday and with no cafes open (due to Ramadan) it will be a bit of a pain in the behind.
I think, we should postpone this to after Ramadan
I agree with you
@ All:
I would love to join you guys but not really motivated to go out in the heat during Ramadan...
If we go on adventures, I can give a lift to anyone who is willing to come to Salmiya Block 11. I have a 7 seater SUV so could be a fun drive too!
I'll check this website out after Ramadan.
A bientot!
