Yesterday the construction started ,
the energy City Libya will be part of an international network of Energy Cities . It is aiming to become a full service energy business centre catering to the commercial, technical and human resource needs of the oil and gas industry, positioning it as the Energy Hub of region. Energy City Libya will be developed on a land plot of approximately 528 hectares, adjacent to the Mediterranean Sea, 70 kilometers west of Libyan capital Tripoli and will include residential, convention, hospitality and retail clusters in order to support the Energy component using state of the art facilities

Stirling effort! I for one find it really inconvenient having all of the IOCs and NOCs and the oilfield service companies gathered together in Tripoli. Being so close to my customers can be infuriating, almost as much as the short drive to the international airport.
Roll on the day when everyone has the space to spread out and we can spend our time travelling between meetings on super efficient railways or gleaming new highways. Although we'll all probably have flying cars by the time it's completed.

Ha ha ha. I just fell off the chair laughing.
A city in three years, hilarious.
It will take more than 5 years just to build half an airport.

Well it must be true then.

Or a typo and the '0' dropped off after the 3.

I know a few people involved in various construction projects here. 3yrs is about what it takes for them to get paid for a 60 day invoice!
