Hi Navneet,

Even though accommodation is being provided, for a family of 5 the salary offered is not really attractive. Annual airfare and medical coverage only for you is another big drawback. Consider your bigger expenses – peak season travel could become very expensive. Medical expenses could also go very high if your family does not have insurance. So give it a serious thought before deciding.

Company name is modern Insync systems. First  year they are ready to give me two times appraisal. Will it be good .how much hike I could expect.
What sort of company it is ? Can I see long term with this company.
Can I afford schooling for two children?
How much will be the fee for class 6 &  kindergarten.

I have offer letter , its a permanent position . my designation is sr network consultant. There is no bond or contract. Can I search another good jobs of high salary, once I shifted there, if I'm not satisfied with company outlook

How much I could save with my present salary.

Navneet, what you have said last is of utmost importance.

Shifting jobs within Oman is no longer a possibility. And if an employee decides to call it quits and returns, then he / she is not allowed re entry for a minimum period of 2 years. That's why it is really important to be cent percent sure of what you're getting into. To the employee's disadvantage, the employers know of these rules far too well and so they hold the trump card.

Don't depend too much on the appraisals and increment. It may not be too much, even if at all. School fee in Indian Schools for a 6th grader would be about R.O. 50/- per month. You must also factor in the transportation cost. It would be approximately in the region of about R.O. 25/- to R.O. 35/- per month depending on the distance from your home to the school.

About the company that you have mentioned I do not know. Not heard of them. But you must ask for a proper job contract which clearly defines your roles and responsibilities. Without a proper contract, there is a lot of scope for ambiguity which you must avoid.

Based on your feedback, I think its not a good offer.
If recruiter further wants to negotiate with me. How much I should expect.

What you should do is ask for full family status - annual airfare for your entire family, as well as medical coverage for the full family. These two would offset a lot of your expenses. Plus, if you get a nett take home salary of R.O. 1,000/- per month in hand it would be worthwhile.

Again bothering you, can I shift myself initially and after getting  sufficient hike in a year, I can think for shifting family.

As I discussed with recruiter, he can give hike of  50+50 riyals in two appraisal half yearly each.

Pls give ur final view on this.

Be aware that once you take up the offer you are stuck with that company - for better or for worse. Changing jobs is no more an option within Oman.

Secondly, if you decide to quit, you cannot come back to the Sultanate for a minimum period of 2 years from the date of your departure.

The rest is entirely your decision.
