Hello. I am currently working in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. I have obtained a transfer to California next year. I have a doubt on the driving license issues. Is it possible for me to convert my U.A.E. License to a U.S.A. license ? I do have an International Driving Permit (I.D.P.) in my U.A.E. License. And should I take a test if I need to convert my license ?
Please let me know at the earliest. Thanks.
Cheers!

Your international permit will work for a short time (maybe 30-60 days) and then you will need to apply for and get a California license.  And probably need to take a test as well

Your international driver's license will do for a month to 3 months. Thereafter, you need to go apply for a California Driver's License [CDL].

Why go to marxist California [CA] when your skills can be best used in either North Dakota [ND] or South Dakota [SD]?

Btw, welcome to the USA, bro!

Depends on location .
San Francisco VERY expensive.  Central valley not so much.
