Hi MLB4861,
On point 1: normally when you log on, you're taken straight away to the country you mentioned in your profile as being the country or town of residency. As an alternative, you could place your favorite forums in your browser's favorites! 
On point 2: this is common to many websites whichever you might visit! You might click on your browsing history and easily find the desired webpage back!
