Driving licenses - Can i drive with a UK licence or need a Colombian?

I have just received a cedula de extranjería and need to know if i can drive here on a uk license that was issued on 28-06-2014 or do i need to exchange it for a colombian one? And if so any advice on how and where to do it. I live in Bogota

Hi. You can drive with your UK license but you should get a Colombian one as soon as you can. I don't live in Colombia now but go there often and I always drive with my US driver license. I have been stopped in roadblocks and have shown my US license with no problem. Getting a Colombian license should be easy. Look up this link

You can use your license but not longer than maximum time of a tourist stay. (6 month)
Afterwards you have to make a colombian license.
I am staying in Bogota and did it this way.
