Hi! New member who is considering a move to South Korea. I have a possible job opportunity teaching in Ulsan. I am wondering what opportunites there may be for my husband who is a qualified and experienced motor mechanic? Is that an area of work that expats can get hired in?
He is also interested in construction/building and would be happy to try some volunteer work too! Can anyone tell us anymore?

Cheers from another mechanic who made the move to South Korea.

Sadly, there are no jobs here for foreigners with that kind of skill :(

Personally, I just make it my hobby on the side, and if I manage to sell a motorcycle or two, or if I get to do oil changes on cars for guys that live on a US military base I consider it a good month. Unless you yourself are Korean, or you have a ton of money you won't be able to start your own business either. Volunteer work might be possible, but you should also ask your employer about a spouse visa. That'll give him a little more wiggle room to work with.

You'll be in a foreign country. Those are average jobs that Koreans can do just fine. You need to have some special skill to get a visa.
