what to wear in August/September

My wife and I will be vactioning on the north coast in the soon. We are curious about evening dress as well as dress for going out shopping. Is it pretty much just shorts and shirts? We realize we will be vacationing during the rainy season, does it rain mostly during the day, at night, or pretty much all around. I have lived in Panama before and loved the climate there. Have also lived in Greece, Jordan and mulitple other locations. Thanks for the assistance.

You can count on rain in the afternoons.Mornings are usually sunny. Bring a good umbrella and try to do your shopping in the mornings. It's not cold but probably breezy towards the afternoon. Have in mind there is dengue outbreak,it doesn't necessarily mean you must wear long clothing put consider bringing a good repellent.Evening dress could be a pair of Kakis.
