Dear all,

Can anyone advise regarding how long it will to get a working visa in Qatar? Visa was applied since July 2014 but until now there is no visa yet. Is it true that Jordanian people are really hard to get visa approval for Qatar?  It's been a long time waiting for approval, is there any reason why it takes this much long? Is there any possibility to check visa status online using passport number only?

Please your kind information is highly appreciated.

Hi Guys, First of all the state of Qatar is going under qatarisation which means all jobs in the country must first be made available to Qataris then to foreign labor. Each company in Qatar has a limit of people it can bring from outside countries and for most companies its about luck as to which countries the government will let them bring labor from for  example a company applies for 10 foreign  labor visas they may end up with 2 from Egypt 5 from India 3 from Morocco 1 from Pakistan its all about keep the labor force balanced. So the process is pretty long and limited to some nationalities.

As for a business visa unless you have a Qatari sponsor you have no chance of getting a business visa here all companies in Qatar must be 51% Qatari owned. Its very difficult to find a good sponsor here specially one you can trust. Its a very complicated process again its all about keeping everything in the hands of the Qataris.

Wish everybody luck and remember please be patient things here take time and Qataris are always No1 then every one else.

I hope you do get the visa soon. But you can also explore jobs in Bahrain or UAE they seem to be more flexible than Qatar
