It's time to move on.

The reasons for teaching in the Kingdom have changed dramatically in just a few years, salaries are going down, benefits are being slashed and Saudis are starting to believe that all English teachers are the same.  (I never understood that, not even all plumbers are the same...some are frauds and some are experts.)

I'm off to a war zone.  The money is almost exceptional, the adventure something new and it allows me to lay some foundation work for my new company, Instructors International, LLC.

Good luck to those of you living and working in the Kingdom and to those that are still yet to arrive.

It's been fun, thanks for the help and the laughs.

Hi Stretch,
Good Luck to you, and again thank you so much for helping me to get ready for this move to the kingdom.  I hope you are safe and keep in touch.  And your views of the Kingdom, so well founded.  Anyway, Best of Luck in your new endeavours.

Mister Stretch, I don't know you personally and was really looking forward to doing so, but I'm so sad that you're leaving! Your comments and insights in the Saudi forum were all so valuable and helpful. Like the others have said, please check on this forum when you have the time... we'll miss you and good luck in Iraq! Now THAT should be an interesting experience!

Bonne chance!

MisterStretch

Thanks for the kind words, fellow expats.

Salman...you'll just miss me, I'm out of here on August 31, and will be in Iraq three weeks later.

Too bad about not meeting those I've looked forward to seeing after they arrive here...and the missed fishing trips.

Stretch,

Just got back from the States today and am reading the blog to catch up.  So sorry that you're leaving--you brought a wealth of experience and good advice to the forum.

Best of luck in your future endeavors and please take care in Iraq (my brother, btw, is in Afghanstan) and as everybody else is saying, keep in touch!!  This is the internet!!  You can be anywhere, even if you're not there physically ;)

Good luck in your new adventure, MisterStretch! :)

I was thinking the same thing...like there was some group chick party we weren't invited to in Bahrain.

And of course you know if we were going to have another party - you would def be invited!  :D  Speaking of which, I do believe there may be one sometime in the near future! :top:
