I was told I need to have my original iqama at the Bahrain border and I was told it was illegal for me to leave the country with my iqama. Which is correct?

1- You don't need to have your Iqama at the Causeway.

2- I did carry my Iqama with me from time to to time too and it was okay. (I am not too sure whither it is legal or not to carry your Iqama with you outside of Saudi)

either way you will be fine as long as the exit re-entry & passport is with you.
