taxi costs to Desa Park City, vs car lease

Post new topic

Can someone tell approximate taxi cost for these routes. Ballpark is fine.

1) KLCC to Desa Park City
According to Google Maps, it's about a 26 minute run, 16km

2) Desa Park City to Cyberjaya
48min, 43km

I'm trying to evaluate value of leasing a car vs taking taxis when needed.
I've got quotes for around 1800-2000 per month for leasing a mid-sized car.
(Actually that seems a bit high because I saw elsewhere on this forum someone mentioned they leased a car for around 1100/month if I recall)

First, if you live in DPC I think you will definitely need a car as it is completely isolated and up a hill. Unless you are going to use taxi to go shopping, and every time you want to leave.

For taxi fares, it depends on the time of day how long it takes, but outside rush hour the ball parks are below:

1) KLCC to Desa Park City
According to Google Maps, it's about a 26 minute run, 16km
RM40-50

2) Desa Park City to Cyberjaya
48min, 43km
RM60-70

The problem with this trip 2) is that 1/4 of it is getting around KL and the roads will be blocked with traffic for long periods of the day. Once that part is done, its straight down the motorway and quite straightforward.

Getting out and in to DPC is very slow indeed as there is only one access road.

You may not find too many cabbies that want to take you from DPC to Cyberjaya without adding on a supplement for tolls etc.

Thanks as always
