Moving to Puntarenas, Costa Rica next year, maybe?

We are looking to possibly move to northern part of the Puntarenas province in Costa Rica, and are planning to visit the area in the near future, but don't know much about the area other than what we can find on Wikipedia. Any idea how the standard and cost of living there would compare to San Jose area. Any info would be most helpful

Any word on Puntarenas. I have also looked a little into Guanacoste. Anyone know anything about that area?
