Hi,

I would like to get some info regarding peace & order in the Ruvuma Region particularly along the National Road A19? is it safe there? are there rebels or bandits?

Hello to Tanzania Expat.comgers,

Would USD 500 food allowance be enough for an expat couple to live somewhere in Rukwa & Mbeya region?

I would appreciate for any feedback.

Thanks,

Shamrock

At present USD conversion rate you will be getting around Tsh 750,000. If it is just food for two at home it is manageable. But having food in restaurants will cost you more.

Expattanzania, I really do appreciate your input. Yes that's just basically for food serving in the house for 2-persons. Anyway, I do not expect up class restaurants in the area.

Thanks and Regards,

Shamrock

Does any know or has ever heard a Filipino residing or working in Rukwa Region or proximate to Sumbawanga? Thanks

Dear Kabayans,

for filipino wants to work in tanzania, there is no philippine embassy who could monitor the welfare of kabayans and the community here is not quite actively working(though sometimes there were gatherings for rare occassions but not enough)to ensure us thus, an advise when you go here for at stake the least you can do is find a trusted someone who already work here in tanzania so you have the idea what is the stability of the company offering to you.

good luck!

first two months i worked here in daresalaam, tanzania was very difficult i almost give-up coz you have to adopt the environment which is more awkward due to less civilize specially the technology, the system but then eventually i realize that it is good to worked here because of the two factors. 1.the majority of the tanzanian are cool and easy to communicate; filipinos in perse are well respected so, you are welcome(no discrimanation)  2. the climate is quite good that you could go outside even the hotest part of the year.
One thing you can survive with a big savings is: you know how to cook and communicate well to the citizen thus, life of an expat will be much better rather than working in saudi/dubai or any middle east countries.  You have more freedom to go outside.

may this message will help to the kabayans going here in daresalaam tanzania.
