Hi,

When you are going to live abroad, you may have a lot of questions. Hence to facilitate you in this process, we are inviting expats to share their top 5 tips with regards to settling and living in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

What recommendations would you give soon-to-be expats in the Democratic Republic of Congo?

How should they prepare efficiently for their expatriation project and settling in?

My top tips would be
1. Learn to speak some French before you come
2. Make sure you are very clear on what your company will be providing
3. Make sure and have health treatment including dental before you come. In many places health care is extremely limited.
4. Be willing to be very flexible, depending on where you come from life here is very different.
6. Try and build relationships with the local people, say hello and seek out opportunities to assist in your community somewhere.
