Dual citizenship // travelling to Bahrain thru causeway.

Post new topic

spylot

Heya guys,

So I have two passports, Jordanian (the one dad used to get me into KSA when I was born) and an Irish one. Both of my countries allow having dual citizenships.

I always use my Jordanian passport to leave KSA, then use my Irish one for all my trips until I have to go back to KSA which I use my Jordanian one.

I travelled (by flying) to Bahrain 2 times with my Irish passport (stamps and everything are on it) but nothing indicating I was/is in KSA.

Now, I want to travel with my Saudi friend to Bahrain through the causeway. We will be using his car. I read on this forum the Bahraini border will ask for the Iqama too (and I obviously have 'Jordinian' written in the Iqama and in my driving license too). Problem.

I read other posts that if I visited Bahrain before, then it will be fine. Or that they don't ask for the Iqama at all. I'm not sure.

I also am a 'dependant' on my iqama.

My plan was to do like how I do at the airports:
1. I use my Jordinian passport (plus iqama) at the Saudi border.
2. Cross the border.
3. I use my Irish passport (without iqama) at the Bahraini border. *the passport has 4 stamps, 2 enteries, 2 exists in 2013 and 2014*

in coming back from bahrain

1. Irish passport at Bahraini border.
2. Cross border.
3. Jordinian passport (plus iqama) at Saudi Arabia.

Can this work?

While using dual passports it's always better to use the passport which has easier visa entry options !

As an Irish you can get visa on arrival at Bahrain Borders no need to show Jordanian Passport or Iqama !

You can also enter using your Jordanian Passport , but as a dependent , and if you're not traveling with your father , you may need to pay 20 SR or 50 SR sometimes !

That's what I know from my own experience !

I suggest you get a 5 year Multiple Exit Re-Entry being a Irish citizen , you can get it just for 200 SR and enter Bahrain for the next 5 years multiple times without any hesitations  !

See this image for requirements for 5 year visa !

If you can't get in using your Irish passport , they will let you in on your Jordanian Passport :)

Regarding fees for entering as you are not with your sponsor " Dad " , you may be asked to pay 2BD-5BD
Depends on the Immigration officer :P

Usually he just keeps the money in his pocket :P

Last 3 months I have been 4 times to Bahrain , and twice he asked me to pay , and twice he just stamped 2 weeks visa without paying :D

They are night clubs so they have dance floors. Music can vary from place to place. I don't know of any after party places if you are not drunk enough already !

;)

There were few good places but they somehow put tables and highchairs on dance floors so no more dance for visitors. ...
Thx for suggestions though. We may try one of these

Cool. There's also a list of other interesting places that you can visit in Bahrain.
