Hi expats friends

I am from Singapore, have been using this very irresponsible agent for my expat pass. I tried calling him for a month to renew my pass which is expiring in sept, and given up on him. I looked for another agent and she asked for User ID and password to login the portal. I wasn't aware of this at all! Then I emailed my agent, she say she CANNOT give me my user ID n password. Is that even legit? Please help..

I assume you mean Employment Pass?  Of course she wont give up that information, because she has control of the process. Each transaction has a unique number.  Only employers and registered agents have online access to the portal. They have to register, so the second agent is very stupid asking for that information, as they should have their own access and only need to look you up in the system.

Its too early anyway, I would have thought to renew now? I think you only do it one month or max 2-3 before. You would need the right paperwork i.e. contract etc. to issue another employment pass. I think the best thing to do is contact immigration dept. helpline and speak to them. But nothing moves fast in Malaysia. It takes 30 days before they even look at any query. That is the standard, even if they have nothing else to do.

Hi the only one that should be renewing your work permit is your employer and if they are registered with Esd then the renewal will be done in the online system so find out if they already been registered
