Hi zmoonlightlover,

Resident Card and Labour card are both one and the same.

The background : Most white-collared expatriates took offence to their official registration card being labelled as the 'labour card', as they felt that they are not labourers / the blue-collar workers. Little by little, the term 'labour card' got transformed to 'resident card' which is actually what it is. It is a proof of an expatriate's official and legal domicile in the Sultanate.

In earlier days, the word 'labour card' was used  quite commonly. But of late, this has been referred to a more acceptable 'resident card', which gives the holder some dignity !

You would most probably also require a letter from your company explaining that they allow you to procure a visa, its a mandatory process for a non Omani applying for a visa, " A letter from the sponsor "
