Help settling in

Post new topic

ellie29

Hello,

my name is Ellie and I have recently moved to Barbados with my boyfriend who has started a new job here. Unfortunately, I am unable to get a work permit and am finding it hard to settle down and find things to do with myself! Any advice or ideas would be great to keep me busy and meet new people.

Thank you.

Hi Ellie,

Try joining one of the many service clubs on the island.
You are going to make many contacts and then your
story would be circulated by word of mouth. At least
one person there would have an idea on how to tackle
your problem.

Find out if your original country has an ex-pat organization
here, and you can go from there. Also, membership of a church
could also serve to assist with your predicament.

Hope I've been of some assistance to you.
