Hello all, I am new and learning to all things Malta. All this learning is done from the comfort of my bed and computer as I have never been to Malta so please correct me if I'm wrong.

Malta salaries seems low unless you are concentrated on the Finance/Law areas so I thought that there may be a lack of young people living on the island. Would this be true that most young people would leave for other countries with better opportunities and the island is resident to a lot of older people and retirees?

Is there a lot of tourism in Malta over the year/summer months or is it more of a less travelled island compared to
the throngs of people/younger people that may frequent Spain, Greece etc?

Just trying to get an idea of the mix of people that is located there!!  :unsure

Plenty of young people , lots and lots of old people Mediterranean diets and all :)
tourism is all year round but the world and his wife come in June July and August
But they focus on the main tourist spots mainly up north and travel to the south for day trips so if you wanna avoid them don't get a house in those areas

socialwhirl

Definitely very mixed ages, and expats of all ages too

Not like Spain and Greece, apart from a couple of little pockets

Definitely more tourists in summer yes, in winter its more older tourists. They go anywhere there is sea, though it varies a lot from place to place.

Nange

They are everywhere... I'm in the thick of it! Egads!!
