hi everyone. Say hello to you all.
I've just been Mauritius for 3days from China. It's a nice and clean island. A little colder in this season than I expected. I'm confused of the direction and language here. hehe...hope to get adapted to the enviornment.
and wish you all enjoy your life here!

Hello patty_nina.

We're happy to have you here. Most people speak french or english here, together with the mother tongue which is creole, or languages originating from India and China or Europe.

Why are you confused with the direction?

Christine

Welcome to Mauritius Island patty_nina! :)

hehe, because we drive on the right side in China. But here is the left side. I always feel opposite when i am on the road. and the South and North are also opposite, haha. but really interesting.

:) Ok. Well the British would tell you, "Madam you were driving on the wrong side of the road!"

Be careful while driving here, coz there are mad drivers everywhere, be cautious! Enjoy your stay:)

Hi Patty,

Welcome onboard :)
As alisa said, ppl speak mostly french but most ppl understand and speak english too. :)
Am sure you will love it here like all of us Expats who've been here for a while! The people are nice and the beaches amazing!!
As for the drivers, dont worry, they are way better than those found in India and China, most follow lane discipline and are courteous, though some are a lil mad :)

Hope you have a great stay here :)

Cheers,
Musheer
