Well, you'll need to have enough cash for a cab from the airport to your housing.  After that, if you need more $$ you can go to any ATM and draw it from your home account.

As for tips in general, we've discussed this a lot.  Scan the threads, which are clearly marked.

Best of luck and welcome to the Kingdom! :)

Hi ezzix ,
Welcome to Jeddah . its enough for your first 2 weeks if your housing paid .
if you could exchange the money in the airport would be good to pay for taxi and other expenses .
hey about clothes wow here you can buy what ever you like
  summer clothes :)
Have a nice time in Jeddah .

Good Luck .

hmmm... shorts that are not too short are okay... length not way above the knee ;-) sleeveless shirts are not a good idea.  have a smooth trip... and enjoy ;D

Your company or your sponsor who is inviting has to pick you up.
You need SR.50 to SR.70 from airport to City Center.
Exchange Rate 1US$=3.75 Saudi Riyals.
You need Abaya (Veil) to cover yourself to be MODEST, you can have other piece to cloth (scarf) to cover your head.
Which ever company / school or hospital you are working let them arrange the pickup or use airport taxi.  Do not use private taxi, many people will be offering you drop off taxi service, do not use it.
Noodles / Maagi / Beans etc are also available in many small grocery shops which will be SR.1 to 2.
Most of the fast food centers and some hotels will deliveer food to your door if you order for example minimum SR.50/-
Even Pizza has a home delivery services.
If you need local SIM Card you can buy from airport itself.  The call charges has not much difference.  You can get it for SR.10 to SR.50 with Credit balance.  Each call per minute will charge you SR.0.60Halala.
It's a good place and a tax free country.  You can enjoy all type of Halal food and can save a lot bkz no clubs, no theaters, no wines, no pork everything halal.

Cheers.

Welcome to Saudi Arabia.
