Hi,

When living abroad, tasting the local cuisine is part of discovering the country.

What is your favorite food in Ethiopia?

What is the local speciality?

Share with us the local tastes of Ethiopia and why not your best recipe.

Thank you in advance,

Priscilla

Hi Priscilla,

My favorite is "Beyayentu" a mixture of different kinds of sauces and vegetables served with "injera" in one plate and eat together with the loved ones and friends.Which is also vegan food and most Ethiopians used it on Fasting day and only on Wednesday and Friday when it's not fasting season..For more info go here.

hi,
My favourite dishes are Fish Golash(asha Golash) it is fish fried with spices and supporting veg salad/rice, Enkulal Firfir  (Egg preperation) and Takabino (Lintel thick curry) with bread/angera , if you are fond of chicken then you may like to have Chicken Arusto( grilled chicken)..ask them to cook it proper other wise , it may be semi cooked. if you ralish the taste of Angera( its bit sour) then you may also try Angera firfir, its angera with spices, onion etc.
