Is there any place where we can let our golden voices out even once in a while
i hope its really golden ..hehehe..
This would be one event I should be banned from. You do not want to hear me utilize my voice (notice I didn't use the word sing).
Actually that what makes the crowd alive and awake...
maybe if you'll gonna hear a very nice voice you'll fell sleep and dream...

Only compounds will provide such events on weekends, perhaps. Private villas could also be used for same as long as theres not many grumpus and nosy neighbors around.
A shattering experience to be sure.
Personally, I sing in monotone.
Ear plugs a must.

Mine is worse.I don't only sing bad but i can never memorize the song nor i understand the composition:rolleyes:
Brings to mind a memory from childhood: my brother and I were both in a church choir. My brother's voice was sooooooooooo bad that the choir master asked him to please just move his lips!!

How many here have not sung out loud in their bath at some point of time in their lives?
My Mum used to love it cos she always knew when the bath was free once the singing stopped.
ROLF!
Your comments make me laugh - I too have an awful singing voice and would NEVER attempt to sing in front of a crowd.
BUT I love to sing (at the top of my lungs) in the car with my radio going as I drive. Its very therapeutic!
I am a hummer - I humm all the time, my father used to do it and it's grown in our family due to that. But, I also have my moment in the shower where I often break out into song (at the top of my voice)!

Every now and then one of the cafe staff on our compound brings round the karaoke so she and I can sing to our hearts content up in the 'caravan'. No-one else is ever keen to join us - not sure why. I love it. I'm not much good - age and alcohol has seriouly rusted the vocal chords, but it's fun.

I hate when that happens!
The old 'age' thing gets in the way far too much... Who would have thought? It supose to be the Golden Years!
all in all I guess all of us have nothing to be ashamed of even if we sing within our circle of friends since we mostly dont have a Édith Piaf voice.
so lets sing along

Unfortunately, I can't blame my age!! I don't sound good, either, but sounded better than my brother, apparently lol

If yo choose to do that here in Riyadh I bet the driver will have to see the ENT specialist regularly? Thank God for Medical Insurance!

Let's hope it's not a convertible
Okay, okay--I apologize for that comment!!
Yea, no convertibles for me! Messes with my hair!
hahahaha...so it seems everyone loves to sing...
so this is gonna be like a big choir with different sounds...
So since Allie has the experience... she could be the voice coach...

This demands a Karaoke Night somewhere, soon....
Maybe a Pot Luck Karaoke Nite like the one we were planning for Ginnys house warming party that never saw the day of light, sadly?
The only time that I sang at a Karaoke was at my (then) girlfriends request. I sang a ballad to her with all my heart, word perfect.
Out of a crowd of 50 or so she was the only one to applaud.
You have been warned. The do not have a 'smilie' with hands over ears.
jillndave wrote:Out of a crowd of 50 or so she was the only one to applaud.
hehehehehe.............and i m sure she must be regretting to ask u to sing

maybe she was applauding cos you stopped?
OK - maybe this evening we can get someone to volunteer to host this? I quite like my compound, so I don't fancy getting thrown off it just yet!
