Catholic Church

Post new topic

We just moved to San Juan and I'm looking for a Catholic Church with masses in English. Can anyone help?  My daughter will need to take religion classes...hopefully in English...for her First Communion this year.

We're moving WHERE?

Hi Stella Maris in Condado is the hub of the English Speaking Catholic community.  we have 3 masses  in  English each weekend ( Sat. 4:30; Sunday 9:30 Am and 12:30 PM)  and provide all sacramental preparation and ministry for your family.

Please feel free to come by some Sunday and we can talk.  The office can also give you information.
Look forward to seeing you.

I remember when mass used to be conducted in Latin, not Spanish or English.

We're moving WHERE?

Yes, then there was VATICAN COUNCIL II  and our celbration was returned  to the way it was at the time of Jesus and the Apostles: the  living language of the people.. Come visit... it's wonderful and all are welcome!!  We also speak French, Italian, German and some Creole.
We are happy to worship with you in Christ Jesus.

Where I am, there are masses in English and Spanish.  I alternate between them, and I do recommend that you try the Spanish sometimes. There is lively music.  Definitely inspired by the Holy Spirit!

And altar boys were all boys.

We're moving WHERE?

Hi... Sorry I didn't run into you this weekend.  Ironically, someone else came asking the same question and I thought it was you!
Anyway hope you found something.

There is also an English-speaking community at the San Ignacio church in Rio Piedras. Mass in English is every Sunday at 9:30. Religious Ed classes are held immediately after Mass and will start up again in late August/early September, including First Communion classes.

Thank you!

We didn't make it this week....hope to visit some new churches soon.

I'm trying to figure out where I live and where I need to go!
