Hello!

I have a sales & business development job offer from a Nairobi based company. If I accept, I will be travelling within Nairobi to meet clients to solicit business.

1) I have been offered KSH 160,000 per month + furnished accomodation and a vehicle. Is this a low OR decent OR good salary considering today's economy. Initially, I'm planning to travel alone. Approx. how much will I be able to safe.

2) Is the city safe. As the job demands local travel, how safe it it travelling in and around the business districts of Nairobi.

3) Also is it adviceable to take a stroll in the evenings after work hours, visit place of workship/ local market to buy groceries, hang around with friends..etc.

3) I am Tamil Brahmin and a vegetarian. Is it easy to find Tamil Iyer food (first preference) or indian veg food.

Your inputs are highly appreciated as it will enable me in my decission making process.

Thanks and regards,

SNM

As an expatriate I feel the offer is too small but you can try it since other things are already provided for. Nairobi is safe depending on where you are living, but then again just like any other city, you dont want to stretch it and hang on the streets too late and alone.

For the food, there are thousand Indian restaurants in Nairobi, am sure that they will accommodate your needs.

Goodluck!
