Hi, salam aleikum.
My name is Idris, i just joined this website. Am from Nigeria but resides in Ghana. I plan on coming to egypt anytime soon In sha Allah. My aim is to come and learn, understand Arabic fluently because i really need it religiously. I contacted an arabic institute there in egypt"ARABACADEMY", it located in garden city. Sorry about the long story, i just want to make some good friends in egypt. Ma salam.
Waalaekum Salaam Idris, there are plenty of language centres in Cairo. Payment is monthly which is good because if you are not happy with the teaching method then you can move on to another centre. Plus the fees are very reasonable. You can also apply to study at Al Azhar at a place called Maahad Buuth once you are in the country. Registration is simple and they may give you accommodation as well.
You can find all this once you are in Cairo.
Hope this helps you in your journey to learn the beautiful Arabic language.
Jazakallahu kairan for the reply, it really helped, maybe i will look into the one you just mentioned. I just pray they teach the language from the beginning for me to understand because am really poor in it.
you are welcome Idris
I am sure you will enjoy being in Egypt
Still safe until being here
Jazakallahu once more, i just hope the accommodation and the cost of living over there won't be too expensive because i plan on staying for a year.
All the language centres plus the Maahad will give you a test to see which level you are at. So if you dont know any Arabic then you can start at level zero.
But the Maahad is more like a College where you can study from your level until you reach the level to get you into University..
Since you only want to be here for a year then just study at one of the language centres. You will find many online.
Many foreigners live at places such as Madinat Nasr because it is near the centres. You can find brothers to share accomodation with. This way it will be cheaper for you.
If you have any more questions please ask.

Jazakallahu kairan, May Allah grant you the blessings and the mercy of this world and the hereafter for these reply.
I checked for one online, it goes by the name ARABACADEMY. It located at garden city cairo. Based on my research, the accommodation there is way to expensive than i can afford and i don't know anywhere closer where i can get cheaper accommodation. I think i will be ok with the shared apartment, but i know how to get that, because i don't know anybody over there in cairo. And if you know of any other Arabic institute, i will glad if you can share it me. At least not far from places you've mentioned"madinat and "nasr". Thank you once again for the reply, i really appreciate it.
Hi idris I think garden city is in the capital where everything will be expensive. Try to look on the internet for fajrcentre, qortoba or if you google arabic language centres cairo you might get some info.
Fajr centre charge about 125 dollars per month. I dont know about the other places.
As for accomodation I really have no clue but most of the centres can find you shared accomodation if you ask them.
One thing with Egypt is if you dont know someone who can give you a place to stay for a while till you find your way around, then its very hard especially if you are on a tight budget.
There are plenty of Nigerians here studying can you not find any information from people?
Hope this is helpful.

Not at all, am not in Nigeria right now, am in Ghana.
jazakallahu kairan for all your reply, you've really helped me alot.
You can also write to the language centres. If you are able to pay for six months lessons upfront they will write you an invitation letter which then gets you a visa. But this means you will have to study with them and then pay for the last six months in order to complete the year.
Most of the centres can arrange accomodation either sharing or private. I don't know what their charges are but I know being a foreigner and new can bring about a lot of problems such as being overcharged.
There is a hostel in the city if you google hostellunacairo.com they are reasonable. You can stay say for a few days while you visit the centres and arrange for your accomodation.
Hope this helps.

yea, i really appreciate everything, lastly, please do you know of any institute that accept 6 month fees ahead so as for them to be able to give me a document to process my visa?.
Salaam idris, you can call or email fajr centre Cairo. Maybe your best bet would be to call them. I know for a fact that you pay them six months fees and they do your visa. Plus you can also ask them about shared accomodation I know they help out.
They have a good reputation and they teach very well.
Let me know how you get along.
good luck with the transition
