Mobile (cell) phone security in Vietnam.

Post new topic

steddie

Hi,

I'll be arriving in Vietnam on 1 September for a year long stay.

I'm wondering what people do for phone security etc, if I lose my phone.

I have put a message on the screen, for anyone finding the phone to email me - yeah right lol...never know your luck. I don't lock my phone with a password etc, in case I have an accident and strangers need to access my phone for contact details etc.

So how do I ensure that anyone finding it don't use it for making expensive calls etc?

Thanks.

Mai Phi

set password, and paste your urgent phone number on the back of cellphone.

Put it on "pre-pay"

Thief cannot check your phone whether it is password protected or with a phone company security enabled, before he stole. After his 'operation' he can check it and sell with different price! I don't think there is an 'honest thief' who can return your phone after read your message  :)
Better keep your belongings safely when you go out, especially after 6 pm.

Best to buy a real cheap phone that no one wants to steal.
Here in Laos I have 2 phones, one as main phone and second for back up. Both are cheap and cheerful models.
Both on prepaid with little credit in either.
