looking for house to rent in Trivandrum

Hello,
At the beginning of September I am moving with my family from France to Trivandrum, probably for 3 years. We have never been in India before. We have 2 small children and 2 pets. My husband is going to work at IISER at CET Campus. We are looking for a small house to rent (3-4 rooms), with garden, in Sreekariyam, Kulathoor or any other Manvila areas. We can pay for place up to 10,000-12,000 Rupees.
I will be grateful for any advice where to find adds. Since I don't have any experience with Indian hose renting system it would be great to hear what should we follow when searching for place, what to avoid, etc.
