I have two types of medications I take daily and wanted to see if it's easy to get the prescriptions filled in Hoi An?
I imagine I'd have to go to a local doctor and discuss it with him first. Anyone have this experience?

Don't know if the same would apply in Hoi An as Hanoi, but I was able to buy prescription medication at a pharmacy shop no problem. And it was way cheaper too. Seals not broken and expiry date years away.

Pharmacies in Vietnam do not require doctors' prescriptions. Just take the packaging for your drugs to the pharmacy and show them. If they do not have the drugs, then you'll have to go to a doctor with the packaging for a prescription for a locally available drug. You may have to go to a pharmaceutical distributor or to Danang 30kms away to buy less common drugs. The doctor or pharmacy can direct you to where to buy the drugs.
