Hi Sledge and welcome to the forum (and, eventually, the Kingdom).  If you look at your laptop cord, you'll see that there is a 'built-in' converter.  I have a Dell from the US here and it works with both 110V and 220V.

My apt. and workplace are 220V but I've heard of places using 110V and some even having mixed 110/220 !!!

As for the plug, my apt uses the one on the left in your pic.  That said, however, nothing is really 'uniform' here in Riyadh.  Lots of places use the other plug.

I suggest you wait till you get here and you can pick up these converter-plugs if you need them easily for just a couple quid ;)

Don't worry the laptop will work, however as AC said it is a lottery as to what the plug sockets will look like.

I brought over 10 which worked in the hotel and office, but when I moved onto my compound they had two totally different types.

Best advice is bring over a multi travel adapter then buy the ones you need when you get here.

Is anyone working in Construction on the forum to advise on power supply on sites?

KSA provids both 110V and 220V
The only lrobel is that they wont be marked to know which one is which
Best option available is to buy a tester from SACO first.

As for Laptop chargers they are 110/220V dual AC input with DC output for the laptop wnich is by default. So no issues.

All you need is a multi socket adapter and you are in business.

Welcome and we will look forward to your interaction on this site (don't need to wait til you get here, although things will be much clearer to you when you do)!  :)

Im looking forward to a couple of things, I have got a couple of friends who are Saudi Nationals, they have been telling me about the Shisha/Hookah Places and how you will save £8 approximately between 40 and 48 riyals. Recreational activities and going to watch football matches.

I come from a city where Sven Goran Eriksson is now manager which is my local team and was supposed to be coaching AL HILAL.

I am used to some of the Saudi Culture and the brothers have been telling me ins and outs and some of the bedouin culture.
