Just got a reminder this morning from Windows. The free download available. I am happy with Windows 8.1
I am always suspicious of any new Windows product. Always seems to be problems initially. Windows 8 being a prime example.

I bought a new HP computer with window's 8 already loaded, and had load's of nigerley problems with windows 8 and was told that 8.1 would be better, it was not, but now with windows 10, the problems seam to have gone away, but its very early days
