'Programme of study' für future long-term residents

Post new topic

ricky

In October the ETC published the programme of knowledge, skills and competences that future candidates for long-term residency are expected to master.

Here are a few examples of things you need to know:

-Know important historical events
-List the 5 main rock layers
-Know current plans to improve Malta's economy like ' Smart City'
-List of protected zones in Malta
-The econimic importance of 'marine farming'
-List all EU member states
-Describe the main EU institutions

But don't worry , you will have to attend a course of at least 100 hours to learn all the answers.

And you will be attending a 250 hour course on literacy for Foreigners in Maltese or English.

Of course this only applies to foreigners from outside the EU as all the others know all the answers anyway.

I wish all future applicants - Good Luck !

It doesn't apply to non-EU citizens married to EU citizens either :-)

Hi George,

I hope you are right ! That will make my wife happy -)))

She doesn't really need to know the Maltese rock strata as long as I know them.

I am sure this could be challenged on some basis, if it can be proven that a sample of Maltese dont know the answers to these questions, the practice would be discriminatory.

Have a quiz show on the streets of Valletta with a prize for the correct answer from the Maltese, how many winners do you think you would get :-)
