Help - new home neded for cat

Post new topic

Hollycat

Not sure if this should be in classifieds but need any advice I can get.

A few weeks ago I found a stray cat in my appartment building.  I think she must have either been dumped inside the building or maybe found her way in somehow - but that's unlikely with the security door and how friendly she is and the fact she is fully litter trained etc.

Anyway she was starveing and pregnant and being a cat lover I couldn't just leave her.  I found a home for her with a friend and she has now been neutered, wormed, defleaed, microchipped and vaccinated - phew!

The problem is she DOES NOT get on with my friends cat and she now needs a forever home of her own.  My friend is very upset as this is a really special little cat.  She is a typical Hungarian cat!!!!  :)  A grey tabby with a bit of orange on her back.  She is a real purr-ball and loves to just sit on your knee for cuddles all evening. She us also bright and quickly learnt she can open doors :)

I will put posters up round the veterinary university and pet shop in the hope that someone may like her.  But she's not a little kitten and many people want a kitten - BUT she has lots of advantages over a kitten - she is litter trained, won't go crazy cat and mess up the house and is fully healthy checked, vacc, neutered etc all of which is expensive.

My friend will keep her until we can get a forever home.  We can;'t put her into a cat shelter as she would be miserable in a cage. Any ideas about other places to put posters for her or anyone here that may be interested or know of someone?

Just wanted to add I am a vet student and will give advice and support re food, toys, litter etc etc if anyone is interested in her but has never had a cat before.  I can also organise a Pet Passport so she can be taken abroad easily if you are an expat.

Welcome to Expat-blog, Hollycat :)

To raise awareness for this lovely stray cat that you have just found, i would suggest you to post an advert under Hungary classifieds by selecting the Community section and the Pets, Animals sub-section. Classifieds has been specially designed for such adverts.

Sheetul

Thanks Sheetul. :) I have put an ad but no-one seems interested in her :(   If worst comnes to worst I can maybe rehome her in the UK with a friend, but that would be very expensive and I am a student. Surely someone inn Hungary wants a gorgeous little cat?

Hi Hollycat,

I can't promise anything, but *maybe* I could take her?  I've just arrived in Budapest and I would love a cat.  But there's still a few things to work out.  Could you give me your email address and we can talk about it?

Hollycat
