Dear fellow expats,
I arrived in PP,CA Apr 3rd. I proceded to make ALL the usual mistakes that a "green bean" (75 yr old) makes. Spent too much on female companionship, ect (Yes you heard that right!);. My  final destination was Snookyville, where I now live in a brand new apartment (3 rooms/$250 mo.) Pets don't seem to be an issue here as I've acquired 2 cats for additional company and a very lovely 32 yr old lady friend. I had used "www.retirecheap.asia" and derived much of the data I needed from JC, the commentator. I enjoy the fine beaches and am REALLY enjoying my other love, RAIN! (off season now).
I have encountered an issue with the banking system here. PAPER CHECKS are not accepted without up to a 45-60 day clearing hold. All my US debit cards were not usable outside the US shores.Direct deposit has also been difficult to acquire. More comments to follow as new discoveries occur.

Hello,

My wife and I have been living in Siem Reap now for just over three years. We've also made a ton of mistakes; in fact, I'm in the process of compiling a list of them and turning it into a short book! yes, there have been so many made, but also I've seen a lot from other expats. If you don't mind, would you mind if I included some of your "mistakes and/or observations"? My sister back in Virginia will (hopefully) be making the illustrations. Thanks, and feel free to write some more!
We got at least one or two more months of rain to come, so enjoy it!
