Post new topic

Eslam Alkradawy

Hi everyone
Is anyone here love to start conversation in English?  :proud

Primadonna

You can start  :D

What kind of topic you like to talk about?

Eslam Alkradawy

Anything
may be music or how did you learned English language?  :/

Fred

I'd rather like to talk about Shakespeare's influence on post the 16 century English tongue.

Hello, Eslam, and welcome to the Expat Café.

How will improving your English assist you in your accounting field and any travel plans?

English is the official language in my country, we have over 50 local languages so the universal mode of communication is English.

cccmedia

And what about you personally, Eslam.  How will English enable you to get ahead with people and your plans?

Am completely lost but I read about Beyonce's 'Bootylicious' slang  being approved by Oxford , and fixed in the Dictionary.
I wonder how Her majesty Queen Elizabeth feels about it

I would guess the old girl would say, "We are not amused", then chop the offending heads off.
English is a funny old language, always changing, much to the dislike of many.
A lot of pedants have been known to get really miffed at what they see as the destruction of the language, but the same fools love Shakespeare - the man who turned the whole language inside out, verbing nouns and generally messing the words up into what must have been seen as very strange at the time, and most schoolkids would see as more than a little odd now.

As for Beyonce, the man's music is rubbish.

What makes Fred think Beyoncé is a man?

Queen Elizabeth II -- turning 90 next April, the longest reigning monarch in British history* as of September 9th (2015) -- does not publicly discuss matters "bootylicious."

Your only shot at learning any opinion she has every held on such might be a future royals tell-all book.  Even that would be the longest of long shots.

cccmedia

*So who is the only other British monarch who reigned for 63-plus years?

Queen Victoria, of course -- 1837 until her passing in 1901.

Amazingly, Queen Elizabeth II is not the world's longest-serving current head of state.

That distinction belongs to the present king of Thailand -- King Rama IX, aka Bhumipol Adulyadej, b. 1927 -- now in his 70th year on the Thai throne!

In those 70 years he has become one of the richest royals in history with a fortune of $30-billion.  (source:  Forbes magazine, 2014)

What do you think of that, Eslam?

Ner - I like girls.
My favourites (Before I got married) were always around 22+, fresh graduates, and eager to experience new things.
You know the sort of thing, playing chess and going to pub quizzes.

Of course, as I got old, fat and really boring, I had to lower my sights.
I assume my beautiful wife has a serious eye condition (She doesn't seem to notice I'm old and ugly), is deaf (Can't hear me sing in the shower), and has no sense of smell (Digestive issues - wink wink).

Xeeschan

I have absolutely no idea what you are talking about Fred..
Now, talking about 'digestive iss....'

Oh My God!! What IS that smell!!! Blurgh!!

But honestly.. May God really bless the women; who ignore to see the worst in us.. and praise us for the very little good in us..
They are really a marvel! : )
