Hi-
I have just moved to Budapest and would like to know if there are good tennis facilities in down town.

If there is anyone interested in playing twice a week from 8 pm to 10 pm just let me know

Thanks.

Maximilien

Hi Robert11747,

Welcome on board :)

We created a new thread as from your post on the Budapest Forum for better visibility and interaction :)

Thank you

I know there is a private tennis club in the 2nd district.
Our friends have a flat near there.
They had planned on playing tennis once they moved to Hungary and were excited to find a nice flat with the courts so close by.
They are Hungarians themselves.
The problem is the membership is extremely pricey.
Many diplomats and public officials are members and they keep the rates high to keep out the "riff raf".
My friends are disappointed because they can't join but have to hear, ping-pong sounds all day long in good weather until evening time. With there window open it is rather annoying.

Hope you have found yourself a spot to play at. Judging from your photo it looks like it is your game.
Perhaps some parks have courts that are either free or reasonable to hire.
I loved playing tennis, was getting rather good at it at age 12 when I dislocated my knee very badly. Tried palying after rehab but lost my stuff, was too afraid of a repeat injury.
